** spoiler alert ** Somehow I've managed to have a number of books by this author tucked away on my shelf for several years without ever picking them up. I realized a few were parts of series (not the first, of course, that would be too simple), but that this one is a stand-alone. I took it with me here on holiday and read it here. I am not yet much of a Garwood fan after this first experience - a mildly pleasant read, with a rather obnoxious hero and an attempt at a heroine trying to stick up for her rights but consistently swayed by passion. The hero remains a hair's breath short of rape, but is no more endearing for all that. The bad guys tend to wear red letters plastered on their foreheads (who are the only ones to scowl and snipe when they meet the heroine?)but the book lets itself be read. Have to see how I deal with the others on my shelf at home.

Victoria Taylor I agree with u totally

This was a good book but it kept sounding kind of like every other romance novel I've read before
