An excellent novel, and one that won me over despite my aversion to several of the main components of the story--gods interacting with mortals, court intrigue, things that resemble children but are much older/wiser. It also taught me that the reason I'd previously had an aversion to these things is that I'd never before seen them as well executed as they are here. I'm glad I don't synopses before reading texts or I might not have given this one a chance--I'm incredibly happy I did.
