it was amazing
bookshelves: literature-fiction, my-favorites
Read from November 02 to 07, 2010

I admit, as another reviewer said, to having an author crush on David Mitchell. (Only have Number9Dream and Jacob de Zoet left to read....what will I do when they're done??) Everything he writes seems simply brilliant to me. I won't re-hash the coming-of-age plot of this book, but will list my favorite things about it. 1. Jason, the narrator - I loved him! My heart was broken for him, and it was eye-opening to see from the perspective of a 13 year old boy. 2. I love love that in the DM book I've read so far, random characters from other books just pop-up. I didn't expect it this time, silly me. 3. DM's prose is practically perfect - I never get bored or uninterested or disgusted at it. It just sucks me in until something is so brillilantly written that I stop and stare.

Speaking of stopping.......I should.
