Mildly engaging read if you overlook the radio speech, the excessive length, and the one-dimensional view of the human condition that results from "novelizing" the author's simplistic philosophy (which I admit I once found very convincing). It's a major problem that Rand's characters are made to order to demonstrate the correctness of her ideas, which don't allow for much human complexity. "Fountainhead" was a much better read, if only by virtue of being shorter.
