I will admit that it took me a few chapters to get into this book, but once I did, I was hooked. I've been fascinated with Medici Florence for some time and this book did not dissappoint. I will admit that a few of the plot twists were very predictable, but I found the story very vivid and loved the way it was layered. I love that Lisa was presented as a strong, heroic sort of female, because I believe very easily that the woman whose face is as famous as hers had to have some serious substance. This book has made sure I will never forget who she could have been, and never look at her painting the same way again.
