New York's famous Mysterious Bookshop gives its patrons a gift each holiday season--a short story by a famous author, set at Christmastime, and mentioning the bookshop. This collection of seventeen of them is great fun. Many of the authors give us the bonus of a brief visit with their famous sleuth--Donald Westlake's Dortmunder, Michael Malone's Cuddy Mangum, Edward Hoch's Nick Silver. As is always the case, some of the stories are much stronger than others. I was surprised not to find a brief biographical note on the authors anywhere.
