This is different than every other James Patterson book I have read. Typically the book centers around a murder or a string of murders and you follow along as the authorities try to apprehend the killer. Swimsuit started out the same way, with the abduction and murder of a beautiful model. Only, this storyline only occupies the first third of the book. The remaining part centers around the killer and his desire for the world to know his story. You have to keep in mind though that the authorities have not connected him to the model's murder or the hundreds of other killings he has done. He enlists a writer/journalist, who had reported on the model's murder, to write his biography. The writer is threatened with not only his life but that of his girlfriend if the book is not written and published. It is interesting to see how the writer is drawn to the killer's story even though he doesn't want to be. He also struggles with the reality that after the book is published he will probably be killed anyway since he knows the true identity of the killer. Definitely a different twist for James Patterson but worth the read.
