Ryan James is a star minor league baseball player. He gets the word that his wife Chelsea, and daughter, Ainsley, have been in an auto accident. Ryan rushes to the hospital and is crushed with the news that Chelsea has died on the operating table.

The setting is Pawtuket, Rhode Island and Boston. As the story begins, we see the dream of the minor leagers, to excell at their job and reach the major leagues.

Three years pass. Ryan's depression and insomnia have led to his release from baseball. He's raising Ainsley on his own and works as a morning radio show host on a sports show. We see his guilt over Chelsea's death since she was comeing to his game when she was killed.

Emma Carlye is a prosecuting attorney in Providence. She had worked on Chelsea's case and on the third anniversary of the accident, Emma finds a note on her car. There is a newspaper story about the accident and with it, the sender writes, "I know who did it."

We learn more of Chelsea's younger brother, Babes. He's a childlike person suffering from Asperger's Syndrome and has difficulty relating to people due to his affliction.

Complications occur when Babes goes missing and Emma believes that he is the sender of the note on her car and another email.

The author is talented and the pacing of the story is done to perfection. Just when the reader thinks they might know where the story is going, things change into an entirely new direction.

Emma, Ryan and Babes are all sympathetic characters and the reader is drawn to their story. Will Ryan ever find happiness again? What does Babes really know?
Will Emma and Ryan see that they have things in common?

I think that readers will enjoy this story and view the dreams that were lost but hope regained.
