This was a very competent urban fantasy.

The author loves New York, and I like that a lot, because I'm a bit homesick right now. The main character is reasonably interesting, although I found the POV choice to use his "gorgeous" assistant as the main focus a lot of the time a bit annoying. (People keep telling her how pretty she is, as does the author, and it grates a bit.)

I don't regret reading it, but I wouldn't necessarily tell someone to pass something else up for it, either.
