** spoiler alert ** Our main character moves from her home in Brazil to live with her father and brother in NY on a farm that raises race horses. She is a horse girl and is dealing with the loss of both her mother and her homeland. Her father is removed and cold. She has a fiery nature and is longing to break out, like a horse. She wants to ride, which she can do like nobodies business. The story ends with her on a very fast horse and coming the realization, that things will be ok as long as she has the love of her family and this amazing horse by the name of Wild Girl.
