Lorraine "Rainie" Conner, a former cop and wife of ex FBI profiler Pierce Quincy is struggling after the murder of a mother and daughter. An recovering alcoholic, she turns to drink, which causes Quincy to leaver her. Police track him down one night to say Rainie's car was found with the engine running and lights on on a wooded highway in the middle of the night. Shortly after, police get a call from the local paper... a ransom note saying a woman was kidnapped last night shows up in the mail. What kidnapper asks for only $10,000 dollars? Was it a randon kidnapping or was Rainie targeted? When seven year old hellion, Dougie, is also kidnapped because the police didn't follow the UNSUB's instructions, police are stumped. Why is Dougie, in his fourth foster home because he keeps setting fires, taken? Quincy, his daughter, Kimberly, and her boyfriend Mac (both FBI agents in Atlanta) work with state and local police to find Rainie and Dougie before it's too late.
