at times great, at others utterly boring.
joyce's stream-of-consciousness take on the coming-of-age novel offers a really nice way of reading about his character's psychological development / changing worldview. but the middle third of the book is a vapid slough of fire and brimstone that took me three weeks to get through.
damn him for that.

Elizabeth It took you 3 weeks to get through the fire and brimstone part? Are you sure you lived in the south? And only 3 stars...I guess some of us just like stream of consiousness more than others

daniel i LEFT the south, recall?
in part (albeit small) because of the fire and brimstone.

how's that moldovan winter treating you?

Elizabeth Well hon dont forget we both left the south. And thanks so much for your caring question about moldovan winters. Because you know, my whole quitodienne life doesn't center around the fact that Im trying to forget that its the middle of winter. So thanks for that reminder, dear friend. Peace and love...
