I love annotated books. Most of this was very interesting, although I could have lived with fewer definitions. I'd figured those out on my own. Pictures illustrating aspects of the text were neat.

Laurie I'd like to take a look at this, though once I got my hands on What Jane Austen Ate and Charles Dickens Knew I felt set as far as annotations for the 19th century. (Everyone who likes Austen should learn to play cribbage, because it will make you so happy when you read the characters were playing cribbage. Also, cribbage is fun.)


Shelley I keep meaning to track that book down - it looks like a lot of fun. And now I have to go research cribbage. *g*
