What a great story, I can understand why this series has been made into a TV series. This is book 2 of the Southern Vampire Series with Sookie Stackhouse as the heroine.

This is an eventful time in Sookie’s life, first she finds her friend and co-worker Laffyette’s body – he has been murdered, then on her way to Fangtasia, a vampire bar after a summoned by Eric, the vampire, she is poisoned by a maenard and the vampires have to suck her blood to save her. When she has recovered from that Eric tells her that he has been asked by the vampires of Dallas for the use of her Telepath talent and he has agreed for her to go and help them. So Vampire Bill Compton and Sookie fly to Dallas to help the vampires there with their problem, which is to find where one of their brother’s has disappeared to. That leads to another adventure with a church group who do not like that vampires have been accepted as part of society. There’s lots of action in this story. I enjoyed the interaction between Sookie and her boyfriend Bill.
