Somebody actually gave this a one star review? I almost choked to death on shock.

The only thing I can think of is that certain people don't understand much about mythology or folklore. Shakespeare actually used the names of fairies from local folklore and integrated their personalities into his play. Not only fairies, but other characters as well. Theseus and Hippolyta are straight from Greek mythology. The fairies act like.. .well, fairies. The way they were supposed to act according to the mythologies of Shakespeare's time. They enjoy meddling in the lives of humans and this is a story about their escapades. The villagers rehearsing the play just adds another dimension to their meddling. It's wonderful the way he's woven these characters together from different mythologies around the world. . but then, that's just something Shakespeare did beautifully.
