I read this series for the first time in high school, and then again more recently since it is in print again. This series is awesome, in my opinion. Its about a girl who's mother forces them to move from California to New Salem just north of Salem, with the grandmother she's never met. While Cassie is upset by this in the beginning, she quickly finds a place for herself with the secret circle, a group of young witches. The group soon finds themselves facing "the dark energy" which is killing people in town and is somehow connected to them. As the story continues they find that it is more connected than they thought, and that they are more connected to each other than they could ever have imagined. Like the Forbidden Games, this was good when I read it in high school, and i enjoyed it just as much now.
