*A review of each book will come eventually, but for now I'm just going to review the series*

If you have seen my review of Hamilton's Anita Blake series you will know that I found Anita unlikable, Merry on the other hand though, is quite like-able. She wants what is best for her people and is willing to do almost anything to protect them. In Anita Blake I complained about the sex, and there is quite a bit of that in this series as well, but it doesn't bother me. The reason? In Anita Blake it showed up so late and was forced into the plot, changing the dynamics of a story I liked just the way that it was. In the Meredith Gentry series sex starts out as a vital component to the story, and it makes sense. It doesn't feel forced or unnecessary, and often the best non-sexual scenes actually occur during a sex scene. The best part about this series for me is how the faye are dealt with. I really love all of their powers and how we learn about them and their history, both personal and as a people. If sexual content is not an issue for you, then I highly recommend this series.
