I have always loved this series, and enjoyed this book as well. I'm not going to write the whole synopsis, but I will say if you haven't read an Argeneau Novel yet, start at the beginning because you will enjoy them all. Might as well start with the first four, which are my favorite. I have read every book in this series and after buying it two days ago, I hardly put it down until I was finished with it. I was glad to see the mystery of the dying wives / life mates finally solved. That said, I always seem to enjoy the Argeneau novels a bit more when it's a vampire/human love connection than a vampire/vampire love connection. Yes, all the vampires look like the are 25 forever, but when you know that both characters are thousands of years old, I just can't get into it. In this novel more than others, it just felt like I was reading sex scenes for my grandparents. However, I still enjoyed it and loved how Sands wrapped up the Nicholas mystery and can't wait for the next one!
