This book was genuinely hard to put down. A frozen town full of sick and kids whose only hope of survival is a serum that has to be delivered by a makeshift dogsled relay, because in the 1920s there wasn't another method that would work. The story was followed closely by thousands of readers in "the lower 50" in the papers, with understandable interest.
