I bought this book from the Book Depo, since it's been released in the UK for several months now, but I didn't actually read the story until I had a copy of the US galley in hand. I'm not sure why I waited so long, my fellow UK bloggers had all but demanded that I read this book! I am a fan of the US cover over the UK one though! Though they both are beautiful.
Angel Burn is unlike any angel themed story I've read. When I think of angels I think of goodness and white lights... healing touches, yada yada. That's isn't the case for Weatherly's angels.
The angels in Angel Burn, are for lack of a better word... straight up EVIL! They (well almost all of them) feed on humans. Drinking their very essence of life. Yet the humans they feed from are left with thoughts of elation. These angels have touched their lives in the most positive way. Yeah, that's messed up!
Cue Alex, who is an AK. Yes, an angel KILLER! He is one of the few people that can see the angels doing their dirty work, and it's his personal mission to kill every last one of them. Too bad he ends up falling for one of them.... well a half one of them anyway, cue Willow.
Alex and Willow, loved them. They were both great characters individually and separately. They balanced each other out very nicely. Although their romance had me gagging at it's sweetness in certain aspects, the sugar fiend in me ate it up.
The story is told in multiple POVs which is something that I love! But I found myself getting a little confused with the change in narration... first person, third person... I got the hang of it after a while though.
The ending was a little abrupt, I felt like we were leading up to this big showdown... and for me it was a little bang and sizzle... instead of bang and EXPLOSION! Really looking forward to seeing where the rest of the story goes. I will be diving into Angel Fire come this December!

I love the US cover and the title is SO much better -- how boring is just plain old Angel?? But I am looking forward to reading this book -- I have the UK version at home. (I ordered it on Book Depository.)

AHH, PEOPLE! Izzy, I like the UK cover more. xP HOW CAN YOU GUYS NOT THINK IT'S GOOD?!?!But the US cover is lovely too! :-)
*mixed feelings about Alex...*Don't know whether to love him or hate him, now! Well, it is kind of a love-hate relationship at this point, anyway... LOL. ;) A fan of Willow's, though... already relatively far into it, very good!!!
What page are you on? You found Alex annoying? SPOILERS, READ ONLY AFTER YOU'RE REALLLLLLLY CLOSE TO THE ENDING - I didn't like the way Alex acted with Willow but it made the book more interesting and he came back to show his true love and stuff...
How can you expect me to be able to resist reading that??? HOWWW??? (Don't worry I did. x-( But it was hard.) No, I actually decided that I love him instead. :) Haha.
Now you are ENCOURAGING me to read it??? ARGH maybe I should... no, I definitely shouldn't! Stop it, you evil child! x-(
Sorry for the confusion... Don't read it if you don't want to, but it's not a BIG spoiler... It won't turn the world upside down. ;)
I know, I know! That's why I said it's not a big spoiler. Are you well into the story now? Do you like it?
Well into it, yeah. And I love it! Couldn't read yet today I literally have had ABSOLUTELY no free time until now... but I will read in a bit! I was dragged away from my book at 10:10 last night by my dad who wanted me to go to bed. x( So unfair. I am at the part **spoiler alert** where they are at the old AK camp and Willow has this bad feeling about Cully... Alex just came into the room and saw that he was texting someone...
