2.5*

Not bad, just somewhat unfocused and simplistic. None of the emotions were well-developed, and we have more than one "climatic scene" in the last third of the book, which I thought was odd. I liked the two main characters, but would have enjoyed more time spent on their interactions. Whole months are skipped in the book, and I didn't get a good feel for how the characters related on a week-to-week basis after they started seeing each other. Still, it kept me reading. No major plot devices that I hated.

Jane Stewart Your review reminded me that I have read only one of her books and gave it 4 stars (The Warrior). So I decided to try another book. I ordered The Healer. I noticed you've done two books at 2 stars so I shied away from those. Maybe she's got some better ones.

Carrie So far I'm not a huge fan of Sala, but her books have been recommended and I'm determined to try. Maybe I'm picking the wrong ones. I surely wouldn't have like Sandra Brown if I'd judged on some of her earlier, shorter romances. I'll look at your review of Warrior and await your verdict on The Healer. ;-)
