Feather by Abra Ebner was definitely a slow starter for me, like, the first fifty pages slow. After it finally started moving, the intrigue kicked in and I was reading furiously. The concept of this book is poetic and enchanting, which ranks high on my "subject matters to read" list.

My problem was that the ending was anticlimactic in my opinion and I felt a little let down as far as cliffhangers go, in that it didn't cause me to furiously start the next book so as to make sure my fictional world was put right again. This reason (and the slow start) is why it gets three stars.

In the interest of full disclosure, while I liked the book and thought Ebner did a great job making me love this couple while empathizing with the tribulations they face, I probably wouldn't read the rest of this series. But, given the fact I always finish a series no matter how much I may be disinterested in it (shout out to the House of Night Series), I will finish and hopefully Ebner can tone up the beginning and ending on what has the potential to be a fantastic trilogy.
