Desperation
by Stephen King
by Stephen King
I don't know why Stephen King wrote this book. Maybe he was suffering from that thing they call writer's block and instead of just letting it run its course, he decided to write this book. Let me put it this way; there is nothing in this book, not a single word or paragraph or sentence worth reading. I read this book and somehow the memory of his other more creative books encouraged me to keep going. The violence is gory for sure and at times just plain disgusting but instead of backing it up with a credible story it just went on and on and on with the gory details. None of the characters were worth feeling for the story was weak and then there was the senseless violence. To sum it all the book is nightmare and one which in not worth the trouble. I thought maybe something would happen in the end to justify reading it but nothing of substance occurred even there. If you have nothing better to do then just keep on doing it and don't touch this book

This book, while I like it personally, is basically a retelling of The Stand. If you haven't tried it, it's worth a shot.
