Dancing With Mr. Darcy
Introduction By Sarah Waters
Published by Harper

Dancing With Mr. Darcy is a compilation of twenty short stories inspired by Jane Austen and Chawton House Library. Long synonymous with the complicated romance, Austen’s popularity continues to grow even in today’s fast-paced modern society; a fact proven by the range and depth of submissions the Chawton House Library’s literary contest produced.

While none of the stories themselves were very remarkable or memorable for me, what I found most interesting were the authors’ statements of inspiration that followed each submission. My suggestion to any future reader would be to read these statements first, as I’m sure the stories will take on a whole new life given those gems of introspection.
