it was ok

It’s hard not to notice that this book is $5 cheaper than Book 5, maybe because Book 5 was such a stinker or maybe because this book is so short (413 very large print pages). And although King pretty much admits in this book that the passion for this series has long left him (p. 278) he does move the story FORWARD, finally getting back on track towards the tower. Personally I think this book should have had the length to resolve the pregnancy and some other plot issues. But at least I turned the pages with some pleasure instead of the plodding I had in waiting for the irrelevant Calla to have it’s problems resolved. In the long run King’s legacy will be highlighted by books like The Shinning, The Stand, and Night Shift. This series will sit on his second tier shelf far from the masterpiece he once imagined it to be, regardless of what he does in the final book he rushed to finish, publish and collect on. (4.5/10)
