I feel like I've been giving everything 4 stars lately, but ... this book can't have 3 stars b/c that would be too little, nor can it have 5, since that would be too much! ;)
I picked up this book while shelving, and it was pretty so I opened it. I was intruiged because it was a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast, and so I checked it out. But I did thoroughly expect it to end up being vulgar and bad. Happily, I was suprised and the book turned out to be good.
East actually has elements of many fairy tales in it ... Beauty and the Beast, the Psyche and Cupid story, Manyfurs (the dresses), and Snow White and Rose Red. It was not vulgar and very entertaining ... I read it at a very very fast rate (about 165 pages/min), something I only do if the book is good. :)
