A non-stop twisting turning thrill ride complete with character, humor and, of course, blood. I love that Wellington's vision of the vampire is more savage animal/alien than misunderstood/romantic. (Ironically, I found FROSTBITE, Wellington's werewolf tale to be more romantic). And the story is terrific. Plenty of blood and guts but not at the expense of the plot--which is intricate without being exhausting and character- as well as action-driven. It was like reading a really good movie. I also appreciated that the herione's sexuality was a given and not a platform for exploitation or tacked on to be PC. Like a good graphic novel without the graphics, I can see how Wellington's stuff first caught fire on the web. It has a captivating immediacy. I'm now a big fan!
