First Line: "Pimps make the best librarians."

I have always had a strange desire to try a stint in a prison library. This book definitely cured me - not because it would be a horrible job. On the contrary it could be rewarding. I'm just too much a weenie to hack it on the inside. Steinberg's novel is well written and interesting. Still, I only made it about halfway through the book. I just wasn't feeling this type of story; maybe I will come back and finish it another time. Overall it was a very intriguing look behind bars, both funny and heartbreaking at times.
