Blow Fly (Kay Scarpetta, #12)

How I came to this novel is an incredibly boring story that I'm going to tell you anyway. Basically, I'd been doing work experience that involved a great deal of running around London, catching public transport and slogging my guts out. Books were essentially what kept me sane on the twelfth tube of the day, you know? And one day I finished my book (I'm always finishing books too fast, I race through) and happened to be passing a charity shop with a big discount bucket outside. Blow Fly looked the best and it cost me a whole 50 pence.
You'll be pleased to know that it was definitely worth the 50p. I've not read a huge amount of this type of thriller-ish crime genre but I do kind of like it. It's not art, you know, but it's fun. Annoyingly, I didn't realise that by reading this book first I was essentially coming into a long-running series about two-thirds of the way in. Whoops. But if you've done the same, Cornwall summarises enough of all the other books so that you don't get complete1ly lost in her tale of twin serial killers and their vendettas against our heroine, Dr Kay Scarpetta. Scarpetta, vendetta! Oh yes.
This book was good. Maybe I'll get round to reading some more of hers. She does deserve some more of my attention.
