I gave this two stars because it's so original, and the prose is lush, but I really disliked the story. It was gross (if you liked Geek Love, you may like this) and confusing (think One Hundred Years of Solitude). I made it to page 192 and then read the last chapter. I liked a few passages and the last chapter, but overall I had to force myself to read this. I finally gave up. Life is too short to read books you dislike.
