Read from August 16 to 18, 2011

I adore Maya Angelou so this was a delight to read as I could hear her voice in my head relating her story. It is a difficult and painful journey, but Dr. Angelou's ability to rise above the prejudice of the world of the 20th century South and find a place of love, self-awareness and hope is also hopeful if not in some ways miraculous.

I know I read this at some time past but since I will be reading the whole series of her autobiography, I decided to start at the beginning. I am glad I did and with the eyes of some older age than my original journey.
