When I read the first Sookie Stackhouse book, I loved it. Maybe I was suffering from input overload at school and was in desperate need of something that didn’t require any sort of brain usage. Then I read the second book and the poor writing began to grate on my nerves and Sookie’s cardboard characterization became irritating. So now I’m on to book number three, and I feel like I was punishing myself for spending the $4 I could have better used on something with a bit more quality...I think a slinky would have been more amusing and fulfilling of an experience. There is no development from one book to the next. It’s the same basic dribble repeated over and over and over. I’ll pass on reading any further books in the series for the sake of my sanity.
