I hold up the book and show Bill the cover. He says, "Michael Ian Black? Isn't he an actor?"
I flip to the back flap and read, "'Michael Ian Black is a comedian, actor, and writer...'"
Bill says, "Hey, I was right!"
I say, "But he wrote Chicken Cheeks--that was pretty good."
There's a pause while Bill watches the Avs and I start to read the book. By the third page I am giggling out loud, by the fifth page I am reading parts to Bill. And still giggling.
I get to the end, and Bill says, "You're going to have to revisit your stance on celebrity authors, aren't you?"
Mmmmmmm...maybe Black can just be the exception that proves the rule. :)
