This series has taken a turn for the better with this installment. The dialogue is still disappointing and the pop culture references are really getting old but it had a few twists, some character development and the multiple viewpoints worked better than in the last installment. I enjoyed reading the multiple viewpoints in this book. Stevie Ray and Rephaim's story is my favorite. Zoey is still annoying so it's great that Stevie Ray and Rephaim were a big part of the plot. I'm glad he turned into a real boy and now they can actually be together when he's not in bird form that is. Reading from Neferet's viewpoint was interesting and was something I was looking forward to. I already knew that Zoey's mother was gonna die (I read a spoiler that I shouldn't have) but Jack's death was a surprise to me. I knew it was gonna happen though when I read the way the sword was described as being hilt down on the ground, blade up. My overactive imagination won out that time unfortunately. The whole business with Neferet and the white bull was just disturbing. I wish they would just find a way to kill Neferet already and get it over with. Overall I enjoyed this book and I look forward to the next one.

Stacia (the 2010 club) I felt the same way about this book. Most of the other books were barely 3 stars for me, but I felt like a lot improved with this one so I gave it a 4 too.
