While I enjoy Kris Radish's writing style, I found this book to be disjointed and silly. The plot, which I gather I was supposed to find "mystical" and "uplifting", just seemed stupid. The characters were flat and uninteresting, and the reactions of side characters didn't make any sense. I normally don't give up on a book when I've read more than half of it, but I just can't choke down another sentence. I will admit that Radish has improved since this first book, but I don't think I'm going to read any more of her books... there's just something that doesn't quite mesh for me with her writing style.
