** spoiler alert ** This was an interesting book. As with all Lora Leigh books, the "bedtime" parts were sizzling.
This is a story about a man who is listed as "dead", and has been remade by the Elite Ops, and a young virgin who witnesses a murder: Nik and Mikayla.
Nik is brought in by the supposed [read, Accused] murderer to investigate the story told by the witness, Mikayla. The problem is, for the supposed murderer, that Mikayla has a solid and pristine reputation in the town. The supposed murderer has a solid alibi, with witnesses to back him up.
Nik is in town to find out the truth of the matter; whether Mikayla is actually lying, or whether the supposed murderer is lying.
Mikayla, who owns a dress shop, gets shot at, her shop window shot out, and attempted to be run over.In spite of hanging on to her innocence for her husband, she does give it up to Nik.
Unfortunately for Nik, [the "dead" man] Mikayla touches emotions that he truly believed were deeply buried and inaccessible. (Nik is from Russia, and his family was killed)
I really enjoyed this book.
The ending is incredible: You'll have to read it to find out.
