Anita is in trouble, again! But this time, the villains are bigger and badder. With the great threat, Anita seeks the help of her friend Edward. With the increasing power of Anita's first triumvirate and all their allies, The Harlequin looks into their affairs for a little "straightening".

Anita eventually removes her allegiance from the were-lion due to complications that their Alpha cannot provide. With the attack of The Harlequin and their disregard of rules gives Anita's camp their leverage and opening for an attack. and because the mother of all darkness seems to awaken from her deep slumber, she uses her children (The Harlequin) to attack Jean Claude and Anita to take over their territory and start their expansion from there.

Anita lost some of her allies but gained another through a different source. Again, Anita seems to add more men to her already long list and seems that she doesn't get bothered by casual sex anymore unlike she used to in order to survive. The series somewhat made Anita practical from her conservative insights earlier in the series.

And yes, the series is picking it's pace again after a slump with the previous books and I am lovin' it in spite the sexual scenes that I skip through. :) I know that many have abandoned the series already, I was close to that before, but I gave it another shot and made a great decision. I love the newer books and I am eagerly excited to what will happen to Anita and the gang in the next books.
