I really enjoyed this fictional account of the real life relationship between the architect Frank Lloyd Wright and a married client, Mamah Borthwick Cheney. A woman ahead of her time, as well as a woman mostly lost to time - author Horan spent years trying to research her, Mamah Borthwick was a feminist, a translator and phenomenal polyglot, a mother, and most challenging for her era, a woman who left her husband and children for a married man. Horan's lovely, thoughtful writing brings to life what their handful of years together might have looked like.
