I knew nothing about this book prior to reading it and when I finished the book I was sad it was over. Burns tells the story of a small town, Cold Sassy, Georgia's reaction in 1906 to E.Rukus Blakeslee's marriage of Love Simpson 3 weeks after his wife died. Love is half his age and a Yankee. The story comes through the eyes of fifteen year old Will Tweedy who is the grandson of E. Rukus. I love twists and this book has its fair share of those as it follows the relationship of Love and Rukus.

Great story that is well worth the read.
