Tom Rachman has written a wonderful elegy for the daily print newspaper. Set in Rome, the home base for a second-tier international newspaper, this novel tells the story of the paper's creation, development and it's ultimate demise through the stories of the individuals who work on it. Some of these stories are "laugh-out-loud" funny and others are more poignant but taken together, they speak clearly of a changing world and one that some of us are sad to lose. Reviewed by Martha
