What an odd premise. The hero's mother murdered the heroine's mother before killing herself. This isn't really a spoiler as it is revealed very early in the book. The question isn't really what happened 29 years ago, but how those left behind have dealt with it.

I liked Maddie, the celibate hedonist. But since it is a romance novel, you know she's not going to remain celibate forever. I liked the love story. I liked the heat between them. I even though Mick Hennesy was a decent sort of hero.

A few good funny lines to lighten the mood helped as well.
