I love any and all political analysis books, but this was above and beyond what I expected. Traister does an excellent job of analyzing the 2008 election from a feminist, and especially a second/third wave feminist perspective. Full of insight regarding what twenty and thirty somethings thought of the candidates and how those thoughts collided with those of the older generations. She also analyzes the election from the intersections of race, gender, class and political identification. For instance, can we say Sarah Palin would have been good for women? I'm still thinking about this one (seriously and seriously!). Best things about the book: full of recommended reading by young feminists and a fantastic analysis of how humor and comedy shaped our understanding of the election. Full of unexpected insight and thoughts for further reading, I couldn't recommend it more.
