really liked it

A sweet intro to some threads in the diy making community. I'm interested in the tension btw 'making' as a hobby and 'making' as sustainable practice. In many ways, we are un-earthing new approaches to heirloom traditions - personal stalks of chickens, carving wooden spoons, farming our front yard. Mark is pretty open about his families struggles btw. realizing some of these projects - which is not always apparent in the 'finished' projects adorning glossy magazines.
