Mary Ann in Autumn
by Armistead Maupin

A beautiful conclusion to the series. (I assume it's the conclusion, only because it also concludes a dangling plotline from the first book.) The complete Tales of the City cycle is an astonishing one, good-humoured, great-hearted, and written with wit and humanity. Maupin makes you turn the pages because you care about the characters and you want to spend time with them, which may be the best way there is.

Is this a new Maupin, or one I've missed?

Naughty lad -- I'm told the book's not out to mere mortals until next week! ^_^ Definitely looking forward to it; the series is brilliant from start to (alas) finish.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I read the original series voraciously. I can't wait to find out what has happened in the intervening years.

I'm so excited... I have given the complete Tales of the City as gifts for years & now to find there's a new book!!! you've made my day!
I loved it. A new Tales of the City is like a reunion of old friends. I found the series in college & have read them numerous times.
