Kissing Kate is about a girl name Lissa who kisses her friend at a drunken party and starts to have feelings for Kate. Kate doesn’t want to admit it and it sort of ruins their friendship.
I can connect to Lissa, because I’ve had things happen with friends where I’ve ignored people and avoided them or they have avoided me. I feel like Lissa reminds me of my friend Chloe in a way because she’s very stubborn and either will tell you straight up what she is feeling or she shut out everything or everyone. Lissa does this too.
Kate reminds me of my friend Leeann in a way, because she sometimes she won’t believe what is really true or won’t except it. Kate won’t accept the fact that she has some feelings for Lissa. She knows somewhere in her head that it’s the truth, but she won’t admit to it. Leeann does that too.
I think that one of the main reasons Lissa and Kate weren’t able to fix there friendship is because they both didn’t understand what was going through the others head. Lissa didn’t get that Kate wasn’t exactly sure how to act or what to do even though she wanted to get over it. But Kate didn’t get that in order to get over it Lissa wanted to talk. I asked my self through out the book why they couldn’t just here each other out. Maybe they aren’t actually meant to be best friends anymore or if they really never will. Some people get along and think they are better friends with someone then they actually are. If something like a kiss can ruin a friendship, then I don’t think those people were ever completely best friends. Whether it was because of their attitudes and feelings or something else.
