I got to about page 140, but I couldn't go on. The book has some interesting parts and the story is obviously an important one to tell, but the writer's made a hash of it. She took something that could have been straightforward and tried to tart it up. I think she was aiming for Southern Gothic. It's so tiresome when a writer can't just let a worthy nonfiction story be what it is.

Denise Now there's a title that caught my eye. I guess she should put add a condition to her prayer that the sheetrock doesn't just drop out of the sky.
