Merilee I really enjoyed this book!

Lisa He's got a great style, I find. You can tell he's an Aussie because he has that laconic humour - makes me feel homesick sometimes!

·Karen· Is this the same Robert Hughes that wrote Fatal Shore? (Which I loved)

·Karen· Sorry, stupid question - I clicked on the book and found 'More by Robert Hughes', so yes, it is. Have fun!!
Are you coming further North on this Europe trip?

Lisa Alas, no, after we leave Lisbon (tomorrow) we are back in Spain for a week (Seville, Granada and Barcelona) and then just a transit night in Rome before we go home. (We spent three weeks in Italy last time).
But already we are plotting our Next Big Trip and will go north for that. Tim wants to go to Germany, I want to go to the Netherlands, maybe Scandinavia? Russia? We'd like to see more of regional France too. It all depends on the budget, but we want to see as much of Europe as we can while we are still young enough to travel independently and survive the long haul flights. (It's still a long haul even if we stop over in Singapore).
When that gets too much for us, there's the Americas, China and Japan...
So much world to see!

Well, I can't not vote for that now, can I! Although, I don't remember recommending it to you. But not to worry, I can assure you that it will aid immensely in making your upcoming visit to the city more memorable.

K.D. Absolutely Nice review in your blog, Lisa. Thanks for reminding me. I have that book Fatal Shore by Robert Hughes that has been in my tbr for a couple of years now. Guess I have to read it prior to Barcelona. Have a nice day!

Lisa Thanks, KD!
