Today, I started reading the Qur'an and it was absolutely fascinating. The similarities between Mohammed the prophet and Joseph the prophet are striking--in historical circumstances, visions, dogma, and ultimate teachings of tolerance, love, and equality. It's interesting how much fundamental extremists have perverted and are advocating teachings by taking them completely out of historical context. It is sad. truly. Mohammed would be enraged and disheartened. I have also wondered what Joseph would think on different occasions where tolerance and love are replaced by uncompromising judgment, separatism, and intolerance.
