** spoiler alert **
Not quite sure what to say about this one, except that maybe my jury is still out on Katie MacAlister in general.
This is the 2nd book in a row where MacAlister uses the device of the "tourist" that trips into the Other World with no previous knowledge and has an important role to play that she doesn't understand. We get to watch her hopelessly bumble around, confused and sadly lacking in information or training.
The "hero" worked better for me in this one, but the transparent "bait and switch" was...so transparent as to be vaguely annoying.
And the ending...really? They don't actually end up together?? What?
I will most likely go back to the beginning of this series and give MacAlister one more try since I liked this one better than You Slay Me. Overall better, but still not really convincingly good.
