So this book was set in the past with a girl named Tessa who is from America. She travels to England to meet her brother after she lost her aunt and most of her money. She instead is kidnapped, discovers she has powers, and than escapes the clutches of the Dark Sisters with the help of a shadowhunter. This is where things get interesting.

With action, banter, twists, and turns it was easy to get into this book. Not to say that I couldn't put it down. But I had to because the library would give me a late fee if I didn't turn it in and then I had to wait 3 whole months for the library to finally get it back to me. It was easy enough to pick up where I left off though.

Keeping up with the tradition of comparing the book with City of Bones I will say I liked this one better.

Pros:
Tessa is more likable to me than Clary.
There seemed to be a good amount of research that went into this.
The writing flowed better.
Great action.
Jem is priceless.
Will is funny (in a sarcastic mean spirited way of course).

Will's bizzare mood swings.
Love triangle still present.
Tessa doesn't like chocolate. *scratch head*
(view spoiler)[This isn't exactly a spoiler but a prediction that I'm almost positive will come true. Tessa will end up with Will the "bad boy". Even though he is such a jerk to her at the end. Jem is nice to her but she will not feel as strongly for him in the end. This is annoying very annoying because the 'bad boy' types I know are just that BAD. This I believe give us girls the wrong impression like we can change these bad boys with love. Wrong! Alright I'm done, but I still think the good guy should get the girl. (hide spoiler)]
